Blossom Dearie was a unique American singer/pianist born in 1924. East Durham New York State. She began her career moving to New York and then Paris for 5 years, where she shared a flat with singer Annie Ross, before returning to the US in the late 1950’s to recorded six iconic albums for Verve records. Blossom collaborated with many musicians including, Johnny Mercer, Miles Davis, Johnny Mandel, Michel Legrand, Duncan Lamont. Blossom was a regular performer in London throughout her long career, often staying at Richard Rodney Bennett’s home in Islington. In 1966 she recorded a live album at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club “Blossom Time” and made several appearances on British daytime show Pebble Mill at One. Tonight Zoe will perform many of her best loved songs by composers including Cy Coleman, the prolific writing duo Comden and Green and famously Dave Frishbergs “I’m Hip”, “Peel Me A Grape” and “My Attorney Bernie”.

“Very enjoyable, Well Done!” Georgie Fame.

“”Because taste is her middle name the evening reeked with class and style…which makes Zoe something of a breath of spring..a great interpreter of the Great American Songbook” – Jazz Journal

“In this thoughtful collection of songs Zoe has delivered a heartfelt tribute to Blossom whilst giving each song her own personal touch. Stylish, warm and intelligent singing, never over embellishing and with respect for the melody and lyric. Zoe should be proud of this album which I think will earn her new fans very quickly” – Claire Martin OBE
