‘When you applaud for the different passages your hands go right over the records, so when they play them over and over you may be some place and say that’s my hands all over that record that I dug down at Birdland’ – Pee Wee Marquette
Ivor Novello-nominated saxophonist and composer Alex Hitchcock leads three one-night-only ensembles in a LIVE ALBUM RECORDING for a second instalment of his Dream Band series (‘ambitious and stunningly realised… a triumph’ – Jazz Views).
Critically acclaimed releases as leader on Fresh Sound New Talent and Edition Records, as well as innovative collaborations with a wide range of luminary peers, have confirmed a growing international reputation for Hitchcock as an instigator and catalyst for captivating musical encounters that ‘continually push the envelope a little further’ (Jazzmania BE).
Tickets are available on a ‘pay what you can afford’ basis – proceeds will support the production of an album that takes shape over three nights in front of a live audience, featuring visionary talents from the UK scene and further afield.
