About

A brand new quartet formed through Swiss/UK connections play the music of Bill Frisell plus original compositions by Chris Batchelor.

Parricelli and Batchelor have a long history going back to the 1980’s as founder members of Loose Tubes, and also as veterans of the Vortex. Recently they have reunited alongside Swiss violist Hasler in Batchelor’s chamber jazz group Zoetic, releasing their debut CD “Telling The Tale”.

Bern based bass player Philipp Moll has a longstanding connection with the UK scene, having studied in Liverpool and Manchester before enjoying a busy freelance career playing with the likes of Jorge Rossy, Adam Holzman and Lew Soloff, as well as extensive composition work for film and TV.

In their reciprocal Bern/London gigs the quartet will be focusing on the subtle, witty and stylistically varied music of Bill Frisell, with pieces from the albums In Line, This Land, Good Dog Happy Man and Quartet.

“If Batchelor ran a restaurant, critics would be describing small plates, packed with punchy flavours, using only the finest ingredients” Jon Turney londonjazznews.com
