Dunmall, Tippett, McCredie, Tracey

What a group! Legends in abundance! Paul Dunmall and Keith Tippett have played together in many ensembles over the last 30 years, but the partnership is best known as being half of the jazz “supergroup” Mujician (with Paul Rogers and Tony Levin) – truly one of the greatest groups ever for free improvisation fans. The group ended with the sad death of Tony Levin and Paul and Keith have not played together as much since, making this concert something of an overdue reunion. Clark Tracey is a bandleader in his own right, but will probably always be best remembered for the many years he spent in his father Stan’s groups – obviously one of the most important figures in the history of British jazz. One of the attractions of this concert has to be the opportunity to see the interplay between Clark and Keith – another of Britain’s greatest pianists . Tom McCredie is a newer face who is already building a reputation as a solid, creative bassist and is definitely a name for the future. Do not miss – this could be one of the gigs of the year!

Please note line-up change: Clark Tracey replaces John Marshall who was booked to appear earlier. Unfortunately John is unavailable as he is receiving treatment on a back injury. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back in action soon.
