Ahead of a new album, we are delighted to have Esben Tjalve’s Red Kite at the Vortex. Great to have a pianist like Esben being able to take advantage of the club’s Steinway.
Modern jazz from Danish pianist Esben Tjalve, who leads his acclaimed band red Kite with a number of young, London-based jazzers in its ranks including Hannes Riepler (guitar), Rory Simmons (trumpet), Andrea di Biase (bass), and Tim Giles (drums)
Not everything is as it seems in this experimental melting pot of improvised noir music. Expect high energy, spine tingling turns of moods and tune-led music with heavy grooves.
