Singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Fini Bearman’s fourth album, La Loba (2020) received glowing praise from the UK Jazz press, including 4 ****’s and ‘Editors Choice’ from Jazzwise – ‘La Loba marks Bearman out as one of contemporary music’s most imaginative song stylists’ (Peter Quinn).
Tonight, Fini comes together with Tom Cawley (piano) and Corrie Dick (drums) to perform songs from this record, in the wonderfully intimate atmosphere of the Vortex.
Together in this open and playful trio setting, these musicians explore Fini’s music, rooted in the jazz tradition whilst calling on influences from the Brazilian songbook, contemporary folk, and the great songwriters of the 20th century.
