HYMN & TOLERANCE MANOEUVRE

‘Experiments in Electronics’ double bill. Atmospheric, textural, haunting sounds and music. New bands from Norwich and London.

hymn are a new trio from Norwich. They are: Chris Dowding (trumpet & electronics), George McKay (double bass), and David Ross (percussion & electronics). They perform spacious improvisations informed by simple composed material.

hymn also work with special guests. On this night at the Vortex, hymn will be the duo of Chris Dowding and David Ross, which is how the group started. This is part of a three-date short UK tour, which also includes a performance of the full trio at Plink Plonk (a new improvised music night in Norwich).

Tolerance Manoeuvre are a trio from London. They are: Joseph Stokes (vocals & guitar), Sarah Woolfenden (trumpet & vocals), Steve Arnold (‘cello & vocals). For this gig, they are joined, as they sometimes are, by Miles Levin (drums).

Tolerance Manoeuvre play atmospheric and textural songscapes. They released their debut album, ‘In Memory’ on Flashback Records, in 2015. They have performed at various venues around London, including Hundred Years Gallery, and at festivals in Greece.
