The 4 th Jazz Alloy is a collaboration between four amazing music innovators from UK and Sweden.

For about 20 years she has been attracting consistent and widespread attention, starting with the debut in 1993 with the duo CD “Close” together with late pianist Esbjörn Svensson until now, about to release her 17th album.  “The Swedish vocalists writing is stunning, especially for strings, and her singing is more personal than ever.” Down Beat Magazine

Laura Jurd is a trumpet player, composer and improviser and a recipient of multiple awards and a BBC New Generation Artist from 2015-2017, Laura has developed a formidable reputation as one of the most distinctive and creative composer-performers to emerge from the UK in recent years. “Leader/composer Jurd with her band of co-virtuosos have now pulled-off what might be considered a masterpiece.” All About Jazz

Pianist Daniel Karlsson has after years of working with the most renknowned names in Swedish and European Jazz released five CDs in his own name. He’s been awarded Swedish Radio’s Jazz Group of the Year Award 2014, Swedish jazz magazine OJ’s Golden Disc 2015 as well as the Swedish Jazz Grammy 2015. Ears have been opened abroad as well, their music met with press accolades and frequent airplay in Germany, but also in the UK and Ireland. “There is a melancholy to it but also a fun joie de vivre. There are monster ostinatos whether eating from the pianist’s left hand or out of the blue from the bass”. Review live gig at Spice of Life, London Sep. 2018 by Stephen Graham marlbank.ne

James Banner is a double bass player and composer from UK and is now based in Berlin. His main project James Banner’s USINE has been described as “revelling in both avant-garde and swing”, “unobvious and unpredictable” as well as “intense and dramatic… gentle and beautiful… full of drama”, and has received support from both the Berlin State and Initiativ Musik. “not everyone wants to pick a side… James Banner… revels in both the avant-garde and the swing… a musical balancing act”  – Martin Böttcher [Deutschlandfunk Kultur]

The series of totally 6 concerts is organised by Musikcentrum Öst/Swedenthe Vortex Jazz Club and Emilia Mårtensson in collaboration with The Embassy of Sweden, EFG London Jazz Festival and Svensk Jazz. Jazz Alloy is supported by Musikverket.
