Mezcla are a Glasgow based jazz-fusion ensemble attracting attention for their soulful blend of eclectic jazz and infectious grooves. Led by David Bowden (member of Mercury Prize nominated Fergus McCreadie Trio) the line-up features some of the best of Glasgow’s vibrant young jazz scene. The name means ‘mixture’ and the band fuse a broad range of influences from jazz, funk, rock and world music into one voice.
Here they present a special one-off concert with genre-defying singer Luca Manning. Stylistically androgynous in both their music and presentation, Luca continually blurs lines and questions rigidity at every opportunity. Following on from their acclaimed collaborative single ‘In My Mind’, the pair present a full set featuring uplifting original music from both acts, along with some favourites from the worlds of jazz and singer-songwriters.
