ONe_Orchestra New work in large-group improvisation to free themselves and their listeners from the default assumptions built up through the centuries-long predominance of cis men in music… This improvising orchestra’s work opens up novel, important, and fascinating new forms, relations, AND sounds.
Improvisation is, by necessity, a big part of being and surviving as ‘other’; conversely, otherness – that everyone experiences somewhere in their heart – has a huge influence on the creation of improvisation. The shared experiences and sense of safety among ONe_Orchestra New members allow them to explore more boldly in their quest to uncover new ways of hearing, as well as new things to hear.
