Jason Yarde and Adam Glasser lead a stellar line up of  musicians for whom  South African jazz in London  is  a deeply felt part  of their musical  history often  associated with .. the Vortex Jazz Club. This gig will feature  songs from the days when Pinise Saul fronted the  Township Comets in a monthly residency celebrating  the music of Dudu Pukwana to the present including themes associated with the  recently passed Hugh Masekela  ( whom both Jason and Adam knew and worked with)  as well as  the compositions of South African musical icons still going strong – Jonas Gwangwa, Caiphus Semenya and Abdullah Ibrahim.  A rare  gig full of interest  not to be missed!
