Tom Smith is a London based saxophonist and composer. He runs a number of his own bands and has brought his music all round the UK, including two sold out headline shows at Ronnie Scott’s. Twice finalist of the BBC Young Jazz Musician in 2014 and 2016, he studied at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated in 2018 receiving the Craig Ball prize and a Wolfson Fund award.

He has performed with musicians such as Ian Shaw, Gwilym Simcock, Julian Siegel, Gareth Lockrane and Ian Thomas, and he has performed at such venues as the Royal Albert Hall (Proms), Ronnie Scott’s, Bimhaus (Amsterdam), Barbican, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Sage Gateshead. His music has been broadcast on BBC4 and Radio 3, and he has appeared on Ronnie Scott’s Radio Show with Ian Shaw, as well as podcasts for ABRSM and the Brecon Jazz Festival Radio Show.

The Tom Smith Septet is a vehicle for Tom’s more aggressive and bluesy compositions, this band plays very exciting and raunchy tunes with an amazing line up of Alex Hitchcock (tenor sax), Alistair Martin (trumpet), Olli Martin (trombone), Will Barry (piano), Daisy George (bass), Dave Storey (drums). This promises to be an exciting performance from some of the most talented young jazz musicians working in London at the moment, so don’t miss out.
