How we absorb our music has been changing, as well as how we learn about it. Perhaps speeded up by the pandemic. The latest is how Jazz Times has sacked all its journalists and just wants copy from musicians themselves or similar.
Does this highlight a change in how we want to absorb our music. Of course, to a great degree journalists and ‘privileged punters’ allowed to indulge themselves. But surely that doesn’t encourage a cultural revolution where we punish them. And discourage expertise.
