For around 40 years, till 1979, there were imposed limits on the number of non-UK musicians who could play here. (Particularly affecting the jazz scene from USA.) Are we going through the same again now with, due to costs and foreign entertainer complexities, again?
Today’s discussion aims to look both backwards and forwards. What it means for what we hear and who we interact with. With a thriving education scene, maybe we don’t need them so much!
