Ed Begley and Alex Bonney present ‘Entire Skies’.

An intimate glimpse into the duo’s Arts Council–funded recording project from a lockdown spent documenting the Essex marshes.

‘Entire Skies’ is a special record that emerged organically from various sessions over twelve months in a purpose-built studio on an Essex marsh close to Mersea Island.
The pair’s auditory reaction to this period of unknown offers ambience, presence, song, and thought that fill a natural-sounding but electronically manipulated world completely of its own, transcending previous processes by allowing the environment and seasons to dictate their journey.

Ed Begley is a vocalist and keyboard player based on the south coast. Most recently he has been working with Thom Yorke and The Royal Shakespeare company as vocalist for ‘Hamlet Hail to the Thief’.

Alex Bonney is a trumpet player and live electronics expert known for his innovation and catalogue of thoughtfully and expertly captured recordings for the likes of ECM, Dave Holland, and most recently his own label, ‘Ear Connector’.

The pair are currently working with keyboardist Matthew Bourne on new material at Bourne’s studio in Yorkshire.
