Harry Pearce – Double Bass
Adam Merrell – Drums

About

Grounding are a recently-formed trio whose name refers to the act of connecting electrically with the Earth. Much of their music is constructed within melodic frameworks to form expansive improvised soundscapes, drawn out by each member’s shared affinity for chance musical encounter.

The members of Grounding feature a selection of rising UK talents. Drummer Adam Merrell is the founding member who initially inspired the group’s beginning. He is joined by guitarist Daniel Kemshell – who first arrived at The Vortex for the first instalment of our ‘Rough Takes’ series as part of Olly Chalk’s houndsbleat. Completing the trio is bassist Harry Pearce, who has appeared alongside Kalpadruma, Donovan Haffner and Garcia Coombs quartet.
