Jonny Wickham, London based bassist and composer, releases his debut album on Fresh Sound Records. ‘Terra Boa’ (translates to mean ‘Good Earth’, a nod in respect to the vibrant and fertile musical grounds of Brazil which inspired the album.)
Is a self-professed love letter to to the sprawling rhythmic traditions of Brazil. A record handled with deep musical sensitivity and knowledge, it embraces tradition & lineage whilst forging its own unique path through the lens of contemporary jazz and improvised music.
