About:

Olivia Cuttill, Leeds Conservatoire graduate, APPAG Martin Hummel Award Winner, APPG Best Newcomer Nominee, Presti Music’a Newcomer Of The Year, Peter Whitingham 2024 Award Winner is a London based jazz trumpet player and composer. Since releasing her debut album, The Whole Damn Plan 2024, with The Olivia Cuttill Quintet, Olivia has toured the UK playing esteemed venues such as Ronnie Scotts, Howard Assembly Room and South Bank Centre. Olivia also plays in Jazz FM Innovator of the year nominee ‘Ferg’s Imaginary Big Band’ and with Northern Line 2024 winner Tom Harris. Olivia’s second album, ‘…And Writing And Singing And Tunes To Be Swingin’ was chosen as Jazz FM’s album of the week, was played live on BBC 3 and featured in Jazz Wise magazine and more. The release was celebrated with a 10 date European tour. As the third generation to pursue music in her family , jazz and blues are deeply rooted in Olivia’s heritage. Heavily influenced by the sounds of New Orleans, inspired by Louis Armstrong and Dr John and the song writing of Nina Simone and Randy Newman, her sound is rich with soul. Olivia’s approach to composition story telling and improvisation seamlessly bleed into one, gleaming with conviction, character and captivation. Olivia also plays in Jazz FM Innovator of the year nominee ‘Ferg’s Imaginary Big Band’ and with Northern Line 2024 winner Tom Harris, the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and Orchestra Mambo International.
