About:
Nick has lead his trio with bebop drumming virtuoso Josh Morrison and mainstay of the Uk jazz scene Dave Whitford on double bass for over 5 years. Performing on a weekly basis has given them the unique opportunity to develop a profound chemistry built on a shared love of American jazz tradition and language. They continue to build on their expansive repertoire of compositions from the greatest jazz composers of the last 70 years; Woody Shaw, Cedar Walton, Horace Silver & Joe Henderson.
For this special vortex performance they invite one of the most highly regarded tenor sax players in the country, Alec Harper, to join them. Having studied alongside Nick at the Guildhall in London Alec made the move to the states to study with the likes of Joe Lovano and Jason Moran, staying for 7 years to make his name and hone his exciting and spontaneous improvising style. Since returning to the UK he’s been heavily in demand, working with the likes of the NDR big band, performing regularly at Ronnie Scott’s and the 606 club.
