Niklas Lukassen (GER) unites protagonists of the scenes of Amsterdam, London, Paris and Berlin with Ben Van Gelder (NL), Ivo Neame (UK) and Francesco Ciniglio (IT) in his quartet. Together they musically explore unimagined depths in supposedly still waters. The creation of Still Waters Run Deep, Niklas Lukassen’s upcoming debut release as a band leader, resembles an improvisational synergy, which like water, flows through river forks into unexpected directions, at times producing pounding waves of collective, raw energy.
