Paul Dunmall has reconvened this wonderful Quartet featuring the superb American trombonist Steve Swell, rising star bassist James Owston and the sublime drummer/percussionist Mark Sanders for this UK tour .

This concert will be recorded for future release.

STEVE SWELL has a formidable reputation, having recorded with many of the leading names in free jazz including Anthony Braxton, Cecil Taylor, William Parker, Tim Berne and Joey Baron. Having started his career in 1975 playing in the bands of Buddy Rich and Lionel Hampton he then studied with Roswell Rudd, Grachan Moncur III and Jimmy Knepper and played the Broadway shows in the 1980’s before becoming one of the most respected players on the New York free jazz scene. He has won many awards and nominations, including the DownBeat Critics Poll for the Trombone category from 2010-2023.

PAUL DUNMALL – recognised as one of the most talented reed players on the International jazz/improvised music scene. Whether playing in small groups or big bands, his musical sensitivity and imagination combined with a powerful sound drenched in both Jazz and Folk traditions make him one of the most distinctive improvisers in this music.
