About:
Talkline represents the musical collaboration between vocalist and vibraphone player Amy Hollingsworth and pianist Will Hobson.
Amy and Will began working on original music together in 2021, however their friendship spans over a decade. These years of shared experiences across their formative years into adulthood has led to an output of work that feels both intimate and conversational, which musically blurs the lines between jazz, singer-songwriter and minimalism. Particular influences on Talkline’s sound range from Seafarers and Lucy Rose to Hiatus Kaiyote and Steve Reich.
The band will be performing their original music, which has had regular radio support from SWR2 in Germany and BBC Introducing Essex and Cambridgeshire. Their songs have also been featured in articles by Plastic Magazine (UK), Cage Riot Magazine (US) and discussed on the comedy podcast Chatabix.
Amy and Will will be joined by long time friend and collaborator Rory Hudson on the double bass for this performance, with new arrangements and interpretations for this trio lineup of Talkline.
