Jean-Marie is a long-standing member of the band of legendary drummer Billy Cobham. He has also toured with world famous violinist Jean Luc Ponty for the last three years. Credited on more than 350 records, he has also regularly recorded and performed with an array of the jazz-worlds most recognised and revered artists, including Didier Lockwood, Randy Brecker, Eddy Gomez, Frank Gamble, Michel Legrand, Larry Carlton, Stanley Clarke, and Richard Bona. His staggering catalogue of collaborations is a testament to his stylish, virtuosic, and inventive playing style, which draws on inspiration from across the musical spectrum.

The trio features Nicolas Viccaro on drums. Nicolas has played and recorded with a series of a-list jazz musicians including Bill Evans, Mike Sterna and Seamus Blake. On bass is Swaeli Mbappé. A rapidly rising star, Swaeli has collaborated with artists such as Jean-Luc Ponty and China Moses, and has performed around the world at festivals including the North Sea Jazz Festival.

The Gypsy Jazz Festival of London, curated by violinist and producer Tobie Medland, is a showcase of some of the worlds finest cutting-edge musicians specialising in the style affectionately known as ‘Gypsy Jazz’. The festival has become one of the world’s most prestigious showcases of the distinctly European jazz style. Determined to break stereotypes associated with the style, GJFL promotes modern, cutting edge, diverse and forward-thinking original gypsy jazz and related styles.
