This special birthday double-bill features both the pianist Tom Hewson and his trio (Calum Gourlay and Tim Giles), and singer/composer Fini Bearman together with her quintet (Matt Robinson, Nick Costley-White, Conor Chaplin, Dave Hamblett).
Fini, described by Jazzwise as singing with ‘an emotional intensity, heightened by the beauty of her multifaceted voice’, will be presenting songs from her highly anticipated third album, ‘Burn The Boat’, out on Two Rivers Records this October, calling on influences as wide and diverse as Joni Mitchell, Bjork and Talking Heads. Meanwhile, the Tom Hewson trio will be playing new arrangements, reimaginings and compositions inspired by Herbie Hancock’s seminal album Maiden Voyage.
