Originally from Belo Horizonte in Brazil, Luna initially settled in Barcelona in the early 2000’s and over the following 10 years went on to establish herself as a Brazilian singer of considerable note within the Spanish musical community. Looking to broaden her artistic horizons she relocated to London in 2014 and has since found herself in high demand. Her smooth but powerful vocals have been heard in a variety of high profile venues and festivals such as The 606 club, Bulls Head, Pizza Express Dean St and Canary Wharf Jazz Festival and she has recorded an impressive 4 albums under her name for the well respected Catalan label Temps Records. Luna’s band features a brilliant Anglo-Brazilian combination from the finest exponents of Brazilian music in the UK. The quintet’s musical repertoire combines original songs by Luna Cohen with covers from masters of Brazilian music. In 2012, Luna released her first album. “Estrada del Sol”. The following year she won the “Enderrock Award for Best New Release” in the Jazz category and started performing in some of the most respected jazz clubs and festivals in Spain. In London, she met the award-winning British guitarist Rob Luft, with whom a new musical partnership was born, composing and performing together. The fourth CD, “November Sky”, was released by Temps Record and launched in 2016 at Mas i Mas Festival, in Barcelona. In 2017 November Sky was nominated for the Best Album Award at the MIN – Independent Music Prize in Spain and the Enderrock Award in Catalonia. Luna instantly captures the audience with her sultry vocals and charismatic stage presence. Each song telling a personal story, leaving the listener with a glimpse into her enchanting world.
