A distinct and evocative Afro-soul jazz saxophonist SAM FRED made his name as a session man in Nigeria for the likes of Lagbaja and Mike Aremu. He has also featured in concerts by the likes of Hugh Masekela, Judith Sephuma, Najee, Asa and Yolanda Brown.
In his UK debut he plays with his 5-piece band featuring Richard Ampadu (keyboards/piano), Tolu Ogunbameru (bass) and Goodness Jones (drums) as he showcases his progressive and spiritual afro jazz fuses with funk, soul and chants reflecting the stylish hothouse music of Lagos with the sounds of New York and London. A new name with a new sound!
