Catch-up with Blow the Fuse on Air #2 premiered on Thursday 10th December

Co founder of Blow the Fuse who first became well known in the 1980s for presenting the BBC TV’s ground breaking series ‘Rockschool’ and for playing in the Afro Latin Jazz group ‘The Guest Stars’. The  Guest Stars recorded three albums and toured in 17 countries. In 1991 she formed the Deirdre Cartwright Group. With her own group she has recorded five albums, and played at international festivals from Mexico to Warsaw.

Deirdre Cartwright Group with Louise Elliott, Alison Rayner and Winston Clifford.

“Cartwright played with minimal use of foot pedals. Fast-fingered and cleanly articulated runs that surely was an object lesson to any aspiring guitar players in the audience. They’d be easily recognised by the way their mouths hung open and their jaws dropped.
