Fini Bearman is a much respected London based singer, composer & multi-instrumentalist, who’s ‘rare sense of melody running through her eclectic compositions’ has led her to become a recognised voice on the UK jazz scene, working in the space between Jazz/Folk and Alternative pop.
For this special gig Fini will be joined by Al Cherry on guitar, Rob Mullarkey on bass and James Maddren on drums, and they will perform material from her brand new album, ‘La Loba’, out in the Autumn. The new record is a collection of songs telling everyday stories, ‘full of catchy twists and turns’, and delves into history’s rich tapestry of mythology and folklore.
Fini’s music melds diverse influences from jazz, folk and contemporary music into an ‘arresting and uniquely personal’ sound, calling on a spectrum of influences from Paul Simon to Becca Stevens, and Rufus Wainwright to Kurt Rosenwinkel. Sometimes dealing with settings of poetry and other times original lyrics, ‘her voice, effortlessly moves between a light precision and warm soulfulness is unmistakably her own’.
‘…A stunning album..A thing of unsurpassed beauty. One of the most memorable collections of self-penned songs you’ll hear this year’ ****
