Fletch’s Brew

Led by one of our favourite drummers, Mark Fletcher,  Fletch’s Brew moves away from Ronnie Scott’s where they have played weekly. With a real superstar line-up: Paul Stacey (guitar), Laurence Cottle (bass).

Between them they have an enviable list of credits, ranging from Oasis, through to many of the great jazz musicians around today.

The band plays funky jazz originals and also feature the music of Pat Metheny, Michael Brecker and some of the Weather Report classics. This is a new band which was for a long time a regular fixture at Ronnie Scotts. Being true exponents of their art, Mark and his motley crew know how to kick it.

Mark is one of England’s most versatile drummers. “It’s all in the groove”, he says whether it’s straight ahead jazz, free improvised music, rock and world music. Often seen at the Vortex with John Etheridge, he has also provided the foundation and propulsion for the likes of Ian Shaw and many more.

Meanwhile, his band has a mouth-watering array of credits: Al Jarreau, Oasis, Pee Wee Ellis, Bill Bruford to name just a few.
