Matt Carmichael Quartet

Matt Carmichael – Tenor Saxophone

Fergus McCreadie – 20 year old pianist who has just released his debut album ‘TURAS’. Jazzwise ‘One to watch’ and Peter Whittingham Jazz Award Winner. Ali Watson – Emerging talent on the London Jazz Scene, 18 year old bass player studying at Guildhall. Tom Potter – UK young drummer of the year winner, begins studies at Guildhall this September.

Matt Carmichael is a 19 year old Scottish saxophonist with performing highlights including The Newport Jazz Festival, Royal Albert Hall, Edinburgh Jazz Festival and Aberdeen Jazz Festival. He currently plays with the Tommy Smith Youth Jazz Orchestra, National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Scotland, The Mark Hendry Octet and Fat-Suit. Music from his recently released debut EP was recently played on BBC Radio Scotland which features Fergus McCreadie (Jazzwise ‘One to Watch, Peter Whittingham Award Winner), Tom Potter ( UK Young Drummer of the Year winner) and London bass player Ali Watson.
