Following on from two successful album releases and extensive touring with his critically acclaimed quartet (‘One of the UK’s very finest contemporary quartets’-Jazzviews), Matt is striking out again with an all-new quintet project entitled ‘The Antidote’. Featuring the talents of rising star saxophonist Alex Hitchcock, long-time collaborator Ant Law on guitar, Tom Hewson on piano, and Marc Michel on drums, the band are set to record their debut album at the end of October.
Since his last album release in 2016, Matt has been gradually assembling a new portfolio of compositions, and this concert will be the first, and perhaps only time, that all 12 compositions slated for recording will be performed live.
