The Olli Martin Quintet formed in 2017 and contains musicians who have long lasting musical and friendship connections. Original compositions by trombonist Olli Martin draw upon a wide range of influences, styles and composers, including Dave Holland, Robin Eubanks, and The Mason Brothers Quintet. This all helps to produce a varied and exciting sound with strong melodies and catchy grooves performed by the powerful combination of trombone and tenor saxophone with the classic rhythm section of piano, bass and drums. The quintet have recently performed at The Con Cellar Bar, Kansas Smitty’s, Luna (Leyton) and The Talking Heads (Southampton).
