Integrating music, poetry and spoken word, this latest project from composer and saxophonist Josephine Davies celebrates the traditional music from the band members’ various countries of origin. Josephine’s musical settings of poetry from the Shetland Islands and interpretations of folk melodies is blended with her immersion in jazz, classical and contemporary sounds. The mesmerizing voice of Brigitte Beraha and lyricism of pianist Alcyona Mick lend themselves perfectly to Davies’ compositions to create a unique and intriguing ensemble and a debut performance not to be missed!
