Rob Brockway – piano
Riley Stone-Lonergan – tenor sax
Conor Chaplin – double bass
Jay Davis – drums
& plenty of surprise guests…
Pianist Rob Brockway happens to be turning 29, and could think of no better way to celebrate both this and his new return to London after four years away than by having an informal play though some of his favourite tunes, with an eclectic crowd of friends and musical associates who are otherwise found all across the city’s scene in its brightest and most popular venues. Expect a gig well-rooted in the tradition that nonetheless takes the odd left turn.
Rob Brockway is a sensitive, lyrical pianist with a taste for the unexpected. He has studied with Nikki Iles, Malcolm Edmonstone, Gwilym Simcock and John Taylor, and he graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2012 with the highest final recital mark in the jazz department’s history.
