Oxford-based contemporary jazz quartet Wandering Wires make their debut at the Vortex.
A searing mix of jazz, soul Brazilian and electronic sounds, Wandering Wires are establishing themselves as one of the most exciting emerging bands on the UK jazz scene. Since forming in 2016, Wandering Wires have supported the likes of the Comet is Coming and Flamingods, and appeared across the UK at venues including Oxford’s O2 Academy, Band on the Wall (Manchester), the Canteen (Bristol), with QM Records (Brighton), as well as on ups at Truck and Are You Listening? festivals. The group’s latest studio album, ‘Homecoming’ (2018) has been featured regularly on BBC Introducing and was described as ‘genre-fluid treat’ by Nightshift Magazine.
