Donate to help the Vortex – Crowdfunder and more

OUR CROWDFUNDER CAMPAIGN HAS NOW RAISED £42,000. Well on our way to our initial target of £60,000. It has now been extended to December, because of the continued uncertainties.
Donate here: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/save-the-vortex

So far, the donations have helped us to get things ready to reopen in a clean and efficient manner, and allowed us to buy equipment for streaming gigs (cameras, mixing desk), as well as pay some of our ongoing running costs. And limited openings from 11 September. And we have been tremendously moved by the number of donors (nearly 800) and their comments. Thanks

These gigs don’t necessarily earn us money, as audiences are limited to under 30 (instead of the usual maximum of 100); and there are additional  – understandable – costs of keeping the club clean.

But all remains uncertain! For example, how to respond to the latest partial crowd limitations announced on 9 September.

SO PLEASE CONTINUE TO DONATE.

There are also donations to our David Mossman fund via our charity, The Vortex Foundation. https://www.paypal.com/donate/?token=hGTWSqCuH1UU6KXXGWsBk4r3p86WiFBoMbqI3qltWf2fQvBvQ3KH7ykLf4qefL5-6EMJvG&country.x=GB&locale.x=GB

These donations get Gift Aid.

The Vortex is a not-for-profit club. In good times, we put on 350+ concerts this year, mainly reliant on ticket sales, volunteers, members, a lot of goodwill from musicians AND DONATIONS.

Donations go through our charity, the Vortex Foundation. In particular, we are raising money through our Mossman Fund, dedicated to the memory of the club’s founder and beacon of the club from its earliest days in Stoke Newington Church Street.  This would pay off all our existing debts, allow us to ‘future proof’ the club.

In addition to the help that the Foundation gives to the club, it also has a few projects which look towards the community, especially a project ‘In The Changes’, which has received support from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

Donations can receive gift aid. If you make a donation, either by contacting Oliver Weindling first, or directly through the Paypal link, email Oliver at oliver@vortexjazz.co.uk to get the Gift Aid form.

Also, donations can be made by standing order or regular direct debit.
