David Beebee is a British musician and composer. He plays piano, keyboards, bass guitar, double bass and cello, and also runs a recording studio perfect for recording acoustic jazz.  Beebee writes music for big band, small bands and film.

David was born and brought up in the suburbs of SW London. Both his parents were music teachers and to him music was just a way of life – lessons, orchestra rehearsals, music courses, folk music gigs were everyday things. By 11 he was good enough on the cello to get a scholarship to a glorified grammar school (which ensured he got enough A levels so go on to university) but after some years he took up a typical rebellious approach and gave up the classical music to take up punk and rock music now playing the bass guitar. Within a few years he was pretty competent and playing rock gigs on the London circuit, including venues like the Hammersmith Odeon. It was through studying the bass David came into contact with jazz when someone recommended listening to some Weather Report.

A few years later it was while studying for a music and sound recording degree that he met some good jazz players and the obsession with music was really fully formed. After feeling the limitations of the bass guitar David took up semi serious piano studies (he had learnt for years as a kid) and after some periods of extended travelling in India and South America eventually joined the Royal Academy of Music to study under John Taylor (Huw Warren, Michael Garrick, Julian Arguelles, Graham Collier). He graduated with a first and immediately started his own group playing original music. After a few art council tours and a well received cd release (Momentito) he turned his attention to a larger project, his 9 piece Gaya band, and recorded a cd of original pieces which was appreciated by the critics. He started running a small jazz label (Beeboss records) who released around 10 cds, most of which David played on. He now plays with many different musical projects and occasionally tours internationally with the amazing Palestinian singer Reem Kelani. David is also building a small acoustic recording studio near Brighton, and he keeps himself busy by learning new instruments (the double bass is his latest) and writing all kinds of music in many different styles.
