Kenny Wheeler and John Warren are featured this month, alongside music written by lead trumpet Noel Langley, pianist Alcyona Mick, guitarist Stuart Hall, tenor sax Pete Hurt, director Scott Stroman and other current writers in the band. Kenny was a founder member of the LJO, and we played his tuneWe Salute the Night at our very first rehearsal back in 1991. We also played some of John’s music at that first rehearsal, and we always look forward to his brilliant new compositions; we’ll play his latest piece Riffs Raft on Sunday.
