Award winning Electric Jazz harpist and composer Maria-Christina Harper (Katie Melua, Ala.ni) is joined by winner of the 2019 Parliamentary jazz awards saxophonist Josephine Davies and Eric Clapton’s collaborator, drummer Evan Jenkins to produce a dynamic project. Together they recorded Harper’s original songs and compositions that reinvent the sound of the harp in the jazz world. The music is influenced by Harper’s Greek roots mixing Greek and Eastern scales with jazz, resulting in a unique spiritual outcome that flirts with the avant-garde while maintaining clear melodic patterns. Maria-Christina’s unique playing on her harp is fused with Josephine’s characteristic and warm sound on the saxophone and Evan’s distinct way of playing the drums. The trio is recording its debut album at Quiet Money Studios, UK.
