How necessary is originality for a person to be heard and be creative? Indeed, with AI now mimicking everything, maybe it’s becoming an impossible term. And more and more impossible to prove ownership of original music, approaches and ideas.
It even goes back to early 20th century, when there was a debate about composers, such as Vaughan Williams taking traditional songs, putting it in their works and then claiming copyright!
