Venues like the Vortex hope to reopen in May. Will the demand for ‘human’ attendance at real gigs actually outstrip the number available? Will the number of live events actually return to the levels pre-pandemic? If not, then there will remain the need for streamed gigs or other ways to satisfy the public. And musicians will still remain as drastically short of income as they have been for over a year.
This week’s informal discussion, hosted by Vortex director Oliver Weindling, will focus on how things may look immediately after live music is allowed to return with real audiences. Join in with Zoom to add your own views, or just come and listen.
(This week’s title is inspired by the Babel album of 2013, led by Stephen Davis. https://babel-label.bandcamp.com/album/being-human)
