Guitarist Alex Lockheart takes centre stage for this month’s Whirlpool.
He will incorporate electronics with improvised grooves, ambient soundscapes and spoken word poetry to create a special sound world, into which we are drawn.
Alex Wilson will play piano and synths, Harry Ling on drums and Dan Lockheart comes down from Birmingham to play saxophone and do spoken word.
After the break, the group will be extended to include other members of the Whirlpool team, including Caius Williams on bass, Jakub Klimiuk on guitar and vocalists Rebecka Edlund and Marta Gornitzka.
Whirlpool is our monthly series where some of our best young musicians collaborate and create. Developed in conjunction with the main conservatoires, we are seeing some amazing directions in which this music is progressing.
