DO YOU CARE FOR GILLETT SQUARE?
This is to invite you to a Gillett Square Stakeholder Meeting to be held at the Vortex at 3pm on Thursday 22nd June.
The main purpose of this meeting will be to seek endorsement of the proposal to apply to L.B. Hackney for the public space currently used as the Gillett St carpark to be listed as an Asset of Community Value.
This measure seems to be urgently necessary to forestall any premature sale of this space on the open market, as seems to be the council’s intention. This could lead to this space no longer working as an essential part of the full functioning of Gillett Square as one of most valuable public cultural and community spaces in London.
