Olie Brice is one of our most innovative bass players because he knows how to lead a group as well as anchor. So it’s a great pleasure to have him back at the Vortex to present his latest album on Babel.
Olie is well know to Vortex audiences, having performed here with Tony Malaby, Paul Dunmall, Evan Parker and many others. He has released recently a albums with Dutch saxophonist Toby Delius and another (recorded at the Vortex) with the top German prize winning pianist Achim Kaufmann.
Tonight the quintet will feature Olie on double bass, Alex Bonney on trumpet, George Crowley on tenor sax, Mike Fletcher on C-Melody sax and Jeff Williams on drums.
