George Crowley – Solo Set

On the 7th May at 7PM BST, The Vortex Jazz Club is very pleased to present a live-streamed recorded performance from George Crowley via Facebook and YouTube! Since closing our doors to the public on the 17th March, we have been getting together a programme of events to keep showcasing the best jazz and improvised music from across the UK and the world, and we are very excited to be kicking off this series of gigs recorded from musicians’ homes with a solo set from George!

Crowley’s solo saxophone / pedals / synth / laptop performance weaves together disparate elements of improv, minimalism, loops, warm drones, the percussive side of the saxophone, sunrise ambience and more, with his native tenor sax as the glue to bind it all together.

To make sure we can keep broadcasting performances, we need your help. We realise that there is a lot of uncertainty about the coming months, but if you’re in a position to support us, then please consider making a donation of £3-5 per gig: https://bit.ly/2SpaIlH

Your donations will play a vital role in keeping music alive across the world. As venues shut globally and with your support, our club will be part of a new movement; bringing you inspiring live-streamed concerts, connecting you with the work of amazing musicians, and keeping The Vortex community going strong.

Together we can come together through music – helping reduce social isolation through these difficult times.

All funds raised will be split evenly between the club and the musicians involved. See you on the 7th!
