Strange Meeting was formed in 2023 to explore the distinctive, fluid and witty music of guitarist Bill Frisell. The band featuring Chris Batchelor, Margrit Hasler, John Parricelli & Dave Whitford, cover a range of Frisell’s stylistically varied output, including pieces from the albums In Line, This Land, Good Dog Happy Man, but with a particular focus on repertoire from the 1996 album Quartet.
Ken Hoon is a cutting-edge jazz collective spearheaded by award-winning drummer and composer Jack Yardley. Known for its captivating soundscapes and genre-defying approach, Ken Hoon blends modern jazz with elements of groove, improvisation, and cinematic composition.

The Vortex Jazz Club invites Christine Tobin to curate an evening of music celebrating the diversity and artistic creativity of her colleagues and friends.
